Challenge

The area where their salon is located is home to many hair salons and beauty spas. Being located in the popular area of the city the search results were quite busy for many of the local key phrases they wanted to target. The site also had various issues such as very few local links pointing to the site, very few local rankings, there was no real inbound marketing strategy in place, and service pages were not optimized.

Solution

Here are the following things we did to meet the objectives and goals of the brand.

Our SEO approach consisted of a few different elements.

• Keyword research- We conducted extensive keyword research to really understand how it is that people search online for Salon services. Then we narrowed down a shortlist of keywords we wanted to target and added local variations to the phrases and used them in certain areas of the site.
• Optimization of the site- As per the Local SEO techniques we optimized the various aspects of the site by incorporating an address more frequently into the site structure and we added custom written metadata and content for every individual page. We also optimized all the images by changing page file names and alt tags while recommending SEO-friendly URL structures.
• Off-Page SEO- We developed an offsite SEO marketing approach that utilized Google’s safe link-building practices. We focused on reliable backlinks and adding addresses on specific lists. We ensured we get ranking via site content and Google Maps ranking too.
• Google My Business- We optimized their google my business page. We added regular posts, changed banners, and tracked call leads using that. With these efforts, they receive over 700 calls per month & ~50+ leads to their salon. They have continued to work with us for more than 1.5 years and we continue to grow their business through local SEO.
